Judicial Vacancies in the Lower CourtsJanuary 27th 2020
The Supreme Court is monitoring the filling of judicial vacancies and the building of judicial infrastructure in the district and subordinate courts across India.
Today, it directed the Registrar Generals of various High Courts – Allahabad, Bombay, Calcutta, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Guwahati, Manipuar, Meghalaya – to file updated status reports within a period of three weeks.
It listed the matter for 5 March 2020, when it will hear Amicus Curiae Shyam Divan. Further, it will hear two Impleadment Applications: 113777 of 2019 and 126264 of 2019.
