Today, the nine-judge will continue Day 3 of arguments on the scope of “industry” under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
On Day 1, the Union and state governments recommended tests to determine “sovereign functions”
On Day 2, respondents argued that the Industrial Disputes Act was a beneficial legislation and defended the wide interpretation of “industry” laid down in 1978
