The Bench noted that there is a huge mismatch between parents who wish to adopt and children available for adoption

Nageswar Rao J stated that states cannot let long drawn out bureaucratic processes come in the way of providing basic amenities to children.

The Court ordered all States and UTs to file reports on the status of children in street situations in two weeks.

During the pandemic the Court took several measures to protect vulnerable stakeholders, particularly children in protection homes

The Bench passed orders clarifying which children would be beneficiaries under PM Cares and appointed nodal officers to exchange information

The order instructed that the authorities are obliged under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 to ensure that children are taken care of.
